Overcoming the Challenge of Limited Space!

Challenge

Bendiro had previously relied on a FlexQube Tugger Cart to transport materials in a certain area, but needed a new solution when they changed to an area with limited space. The challenge was to find a way to turn the cart around in a smaller space, as well as connect more carts in a tugger train.

Achievement

To meet the changing needs, FlexQube successfully implemented a new towbar and tow hitch on both sides of the cart. This enabled the operators to quickly and easily connect and disconnect the tugger and transport materials back and forth without having to turn around. Additionally, multiple carts can be connected to a tugger train, increasing the efficiency of the transport process. The flexible design of the FlexQube concept was thus able to meet the changing needs of the customers by providing a reliable and efficient solution.

Solution

After discussing the customer's inquiry with the Sales Manager and design team, they proposed adding a second towbar and tow hitch on the front and rear of the cart. The modularity of the concept enabled the use of FlexBeams to attach the components to the base frame, and easily removed with the use of common tools found in any warehouse. The Sales Representative then sent the proposed spare parts and service plan to the customer, and a schedule was established to perform the modification.

To address the challenge of limited space and the need for increased operational flexibility, Bendiro implemented the FlexQube concept, which allowed them to easily adapt their existing cart to a more flexible tugger cart system. This new solution ensures that their transportation processes are more flexible and better suited for their current needs.
