Six Sigma Definition

Six Sigma is a statistical term that is used to refer to a process that generates a maximum defect probability of 3.4 parts per million (PPM). In other words, 99.99966% of all opportunities are free of defects, statically speaking. However, a three-sigma organization would have 66,807 DPMO and 93.3% of all opportunities free of defects.
