We offer customized cart-based solutions for robotic and mechanical cart logistics to provide customers with a more flexible material handling process. We create safer, more ergonomic, and cost-efficient logistics with a few standardized components.

  • Senior Hardware Engineer - Gothenburg, Sweden

    On-site, Full-time.

    FlexQube has more than 1200 customers in 40 countries with primary markets being North America and Europe. FlexQube’s customers are found in the manufacturing industry, distribution, and warehousing operations. We represent some of the world’s most successful companies, a significant portion of which are listed on the Fortune 500. These companies operate in the automotive industry, electric vehicle manufacturing, e-commerce, heavy trucks, industrial automation, and retail logistics. FlexQube has also received a new follow-up order from an U.S. customer, one of the world’s largest e-commerce and logistics companies based in the United States.

    About the position as Senior Hardware Engineer
    In the role as Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be a key member of FlexQube’s development team with overall responsibility for the hardware. The purpose of the role is to ensure high-quality solutions developed in line with customer needs and the long-term product strategy. You will contribute throughout the entire product development process—from requirements specification and prototyping to testing, verification, documentation, and release. You will work in parallel on multiple customer projects, adapting products to different applications and environments. In addition, you will act as a technical specialist internally and in customer dialogues, and support continuous improvements related to cost, quality, scalability, and manufacturability.

    You will be based at FlexQube’s headquarters in Mölndal and report to their Concept Manager. The team is cross-functional and possesses expertise in mechanics, software, electrical engineering, and application. Parts of the team are based in the US, making cross-site coordination and joint product development a natural part of the daily work. The working approach is characterized by short decision-making paths, practical work, and a high level of technical involvement.

    Your main responsibilities:

    • Overall responsibility for the hardware within FlexQube’s product portfolio, ensuring quality, functionality, and technical direction in line with customer needs and product strategy.
    • Participate in the entire product development cycle – from idea, requirements specification, and prototype to testing, verification, documentation, and release.
    • Serve as a technical specialist internally and in customer-facing dialogues, and contribute to improvements in the product range regarding cost, quality, scalability, and manufacturability.

    About you
    You have several years of professional experience where you have developed a solid understanding of electronics and hardware systems. It is considered an advantage if you have experience in robotics, AGV/AMR, or other mobile systems and/or experience within electrical schematics. In addition, you have a post-secondary education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent field, and possess a strong overall technical understanding of how hardware, software, and control systems interact. Furthermore, you have experience in product development, preferably in agile environments, from concept to release, and are accustomed to making well-founded technical decisions related to hardware design. The role requires fluency in English, while proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.

    To succeed in the role, we believe that you are a solution-oriented individual who enjoys working hands-on with complex technical systems. You are collaborative and thrive in cross-functional environments. Furthermore, you are driven and comfortable with broad responsibilities, where you can quickly adapt and familiarize yourself with fast-paced projects. You are also customer-focused and used to contributing as technical support both internally and externally.
    Important for the position:

    • Several years of professional experience where you have gained a solid understanding of electronics and hardware systems.
    • Post-secondary education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent field.
    • Strong technical understanding of how hardware, software, and control systems interact.
    • Experience in product development within complex systems, preferably from concept to release – where you have made well-founded decisions regarding hardware design.
    • Fluent English skills; Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.

    Meritorious for the position:

    • Experience in robotics, AGV/AMR, or other mobile systems.
    • Experience in electrical schematics (ElProCad, E-Plan and/or Autodesk Electrical)
    • Experience in product development within an agile context.

    As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work in a technically broad, hands-on, and system-oriented role. Your focus will be on improving, stabilizing, and further developing both existing and new functionality in robotic and automation systems. You will work within a project development team where you own your tasks, as well as collaborate closely with colleagues, and are exposed early to customers and real-world applications. In practice, this involves developing, debugging, and testing PLC-based automation logic, as well as system-level software in C/C++ and scripting (e.g., Python) – often tied to specific product features.
    You will be based at FlexQube’s headquarters in Mölndal and have a Sr. Software Engineer as a mentor. The team is cross-functional, with expertise in mechanics, software, electrical systems, and applications. The working approach is characterized by fast decision-making, practical hands-on work, and a strong technical presence.

    Your main responsibilities:

    • Work in a hands-on role focused on improving, stabilizing, and further developing functionality in robotic and automation systems, both in existing and new solutions.
    • Develop, debug, and test PLC-based automation logic as well as system-level software in C/C++ and scripting (e.g., Python), often linked to specific product features
    • Be part of a project development team where you own your tasks, collaborate closely with colleagues, and are exposed early to customers and real-world applications.

    About you

You also have a strong technical interest and a good understanding of systems where hardware and software interact. The role requires fluency in English, while proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.

    To succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical interest and curiosity about how systems work. You are independent, able to make your own decisions, and take responsibility for your work, while also being collaborative and enjoying working towards common goals. Furthermore, you are driven and value personal development in your role and together with FlexQube.

    • You hold a post-secondary technical education in mechatronics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another field considered equivalent.
    • Previous hands-on experience within the area from a similar role, internship/placement, or other experience deemed equivalent.
